Day Twelve.4099.8km
Entry Two
Apparently, Cape Breton is experiencing the tail end of a tropical storm. That would explain why it's raining so fucking much. It would also explain why it rained so fucking much in Halifax. And the rest of Nova Scotia.
After my two associates woke up, we attempted to go see famous Peggy's Cove. Between the rain and our map which hardly shows any roads it was too difficult to get there. So we turned back North with, I suppose, some dim idea in the back of our heads to return.
The drive was pretty long, not that it's a problem doing that..but the intense rain made it especially draining and to make matters worse, the car repeatedly hydroplaned. Fucking terrifying. And then I started hearing a shitty noise from the car. I thought it was something to do with rear-suspension or some back-tires sort of problem. I think it may have just been the AC whining though after all. It's easy to imagine a catastrophe when one is in northern Nova Scotia in the middle of fucking nowhere in the pouring rain.
We did eventually make it to our hostel which is located in the middle of Cape Breton Island. It's a really nice hostel. Outside, it's still pouring rain and to my eyes and ears it's getting worse. I have to take a break now to help with dinner though, so I'll leave it at that.
