Day One

Day one.July 11. 722km

Ok. Arrived in Ottawa. The trip has begun. Our first four/five hours were spent on the great freeways of Southern Ontario. Most ventures begin on these behemoth ribbons of asphalt and vehicles.

We left the highway just after Napanee to venture onto some back roads. We found some crazy ones, barely wide enough for two cars to pass. After some time and many nice views we made it to Murphy's Point Provincial Park. Our plan was to walk some trails. We found the trails, but eventually left them in search of scenery. This proved to be a BAD idea. We got lost. We wandered around the vast trackless woods for some time...Finally we encountered civilization, and salvation. We did make friends with some black flies...

After that fairly sour note we proceeded onwards, got some dinner and finally found our way into Ottawa. We're staying in a jail that was converted into a hostel. So far we haven't done much besides drink a bit and play guitar (accidentally attracting the attention of a tour group). Tonight we will continue to drink, followed by some roaming around in this foreign town.

It hasn't really sunk in that we're here. That we're gone.
Sweet
